“It’s More than a Brunch; it’s an experience!”

by John Reid

OCTAH, which stands for ‘Our Collective Trauma and Healing,’ provides mental health education, resources, and support for women and families who are dealing with mental health challenges. This is done through their wellness boutique, which connects wellness specialists in need of support, as well as helping small businesses.

Starting on January 7, they will host one of their quarterly brunches. The OCTAH Brunch Experience is designed to bring the community together to normalize mental health discussions, while connecting men and women to therapy groups, counselors and therapists. Next week’s brunch is themed “The State of Black Relationships: A Candid Discussion.”

India Daniels, CEO and Founder of the OCTAH Brunch Experience, talked about why these brunches are so vital within the community.

“Black mental health conversations are necessary and needed,” she said. She goes one to talk about how the brunches provide impactful discussions while also providing top notch entertainment.

“It’s more than a brunch,” she continued. “It’s an experience!”

For those interested in a group therapy session, they can be reached at Octahllc@gmail.com. Visit their page for more information.
