Virginia’s first ever Barber & Beauty Expo coming in 2022

We know Virginia as the place for love, but thanks to a local business owner, Virginia is now known for hosting its first Barber and Beauty Expo!

We sat down with the founder of this event, and owner of a local Barber School to discuss this event.

What is your motivation for bringing the Virginia 1st ever Barber & Beauty Expo here?

My primary motivation behind me putting this together is, I was born and raised in VA and I’ve always felt that we get skipped and not seen as a major powerhouse in the barber and beauty industries or any other industry. I want to turn things around and fill that void and build the culture. There isn’t a better time than now to build an event where barbers and hairstylists can get a piece of the pie.

Why is the success of this event important to you personally?

This is important to me because I really care about my state and my industry. I want to see us all grow. There’s plenty of money and opportunities for anyone who wants to take it to the next level. It’s also important for everyone in the barber and beauty industry to create our own growth. And we have everything we need here in Virginia to have that growth. We may have our own brand, we can still build together.

What can people expect to receive from this event?

This event will educate, enlighten and unite the community. Those are the main things; to invite everyone to the table because many people don’t understand the industry. This is an opportunity for the community to network, support each other and everything in between. But we first have to educate; which is a huge component of the expo. Any change starts with education, so that’s a must and where we have to start. I want to change how people view Virginia and hopefully, this expo will stimulate and showcase some of the upcoming Virginian legends.
