Town of Dumfries to Host Second Annual Juneteenth Celebration

DUMFRIES, VA — The Town of Dumfries is proud to announce its Second Annual Juneteenth Celebration, taking place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM at Garrison Park, 17749 Main Street, Dumfries, VA 22026. This free, family-friendly event is open to all and will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:15 PM.

Following last year’s incredible historic turnout of more than 1,800 attendees, this year’s celebration promises to be even bigger and better. Attendees can look forward to an exciting afternoon filled with live music, face painting, a petting zoo, food and retail vendors, and activities for all ages.

“We’re excited to bring the community together once again to commemorate Juneteenth—honoring history, celebrating freedom, and promoting unity,” said Town Manager Tangela Innis. “This event is a true reflection of Dumfries’ spirit and the joy of coming together as neighbors.”

The celebration will highlight the importance of Juneteenth as a national day of reflection and freedom, while also showcasing the vibrant culture and diversity that make Dumfries a thriving and inclusive community. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and their festive spirit as the Town of Dumfries commemorates this important holiday with joy, remembrance,
and community pride.
