The Town of Dumfries is excited to invite the community to celebrate Juneteenth at Garrison Park
on Wednesday, June 19th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by spectacular fireworks display at 9:00 PM. This family-friendly event is free to attend and promises an afternoon of fun, entertainment, and celebration for all ages.

Garrison Park, located at 17749 Main Street, Dumfries, VA, just behind the Town Hall, will be transformed into a vibrant celebration space with activities and entertainment for everyone.

Event Highlights:

• Kids Activities: From bounce houses to face painting, there will be a variety of activities to keep the little ones entertained.
• Food Trucks: A diverse selection of food trucks will be on-site
• Family Arts & Crafts: Get creative with various arts and crafts stations suitable for all ages.
• Games: Enjoy a range of fun games designed to bring out the competitive spirit in everyone (adults too).
• Petting Zoo: Interact with friendly animals at the petting zoo
• Live Entertainment: Experience live performances from local artists and musicians, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and talents of our community.

Chair Pro Tem Selonia Miles stated, “Juneteenth is a significant day in our nation’s history, marking the end of slavery in the United States. We are proud to host this celebration in Dumfries to honor this important day and bring our community together in joy and reflection.”

This event is an opportunity for the Dumfries community to come together, celebrate freedom, and enjoy a day filled with fun activities and entertainment. The evening will culminate in a dazzling fireworks display, lighting up the sky in a grand finale that you won’t want to miss.
