The Good News Community Kitchen Announces The Founder’s Scholarship

For years The Good News Community Kitchen (www.tgnck.org) has been a source of provision for Prince William County’s underserved. According to its website, TGNCK was established in 2015 by Army Veteran Mercedes N. Kirkland-Doyle, to rebuild and strengthen communities by fighting hunger one meal at a time. Recently they were given the Chick-Fil-A regional award of $175,000 for outstanding service.

Today they announced another way that they are giving back to the community via the Founder’s Scholarship. It is designed for students from single-parent households or emancipated minors who live in Prince William and Fairfax counties. TGNCK states that “While unconventional families are labeled or subjected to various generalizations and stereotypes, they often birth successful community leaders. This scholarship is designed to support the educational goals of such young leaders.”

Interesting parties should email their applications to scholarship@tgnck.org. For more information on the scholarship click here.
