The Collective PAC Endorses Idris O’Connor for Coles District Supervisor
Democratic Nominee for Coles District Supervisor Idris O’Connor earns the endorsement of The Collective PAC, the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political representation across all levels of government. O’Connor is the Democratic Nominee for the Coles
Magisterial District for the Prince William County Board of Supervisors Founded in August of 2016, The Collective PAC has endorsed and supported hundreds of Black candidates over the past five years and have helped 110 candidates win general elections at the local, state and federal levels across the
country. The organization works to rectify the underrepresentation of the Black community in elected seats of power throughout America. Their website notes that in order to reach political equity – a place where Black elected officials represent the community’s population statistically – Black people should hold at least 13% of all elected offices in the U.S.
“We are thrilled to endorse Idris’s campaign to represent the Coles District in Prince William County. He is a unifying leader in Prince William with a strong commitment to ensuring that everyone has a chance to live in a safe, healthy, and thriving community in Prince William County” Kevin Olasanoye, National Political & Organizing Director for the Collective PAC said in a statement.
O’connor, who serves as Vice Chair of the Prince William County Social Service Advisory Board, expressed excitement at The Collective PAC’s support.
“The Collective PAC’s mission to address underrepresentation of the Black community aligns with my campaign’s commitment that our government must reflect who it serves. As a public servant and fierce advocate for mental health parity, and accessible affordable housing, I believe I can be a force for change in my community and for the county at large and lift up the voices not being heard on the Board.”
