Springs Gate Chapel celebrates new facility in Lake Ridge

by John Reid

“Life Redefined.”

It is the mantra by which the congregation at Springs Gate Chapel lives by, and this past Sunday they celebrated the opening of their new facility in Lake Ridge. The ribbon cutting ceremony, officially welcoming the community. Cumulating the end of their ‘Climax ’24 Conference,’ several speakers and even elected officials made their way to be a part of the festivities.

Featuring a two story building with the children’s wing for Sunday school classes upstairs and state-of-the-art rooms, it was a great time for people to come and worship with their loved ones.

Afterwards, D14 Delegate Bernice Mireku-North, one of two Ghanians serving in the House of Delegates, spoke with the PW Perspective’s John Reid on what it meant to be in attendance.

“I’m making sure that all Ghanaians are being represented and heard,” she said. “Whether I’m in Maryland or elsewhere, just coming out here to support is critical, because we’re all one. Even though we live in different places, I’m always excited about the elevation of the Ghanaian community because we need more spaces like this.”
