So what can data centers do for you?

PW Digital Gateway sponsored the following post

If you are in the construction industry, data centers being built on Pageland will provide jobs for 10-15 years to come. And you won’t have to commute to Maryland.  With over 6,000 people unemployed now in PW County, this project is a welcome addition.

For those who live in the Eastern end of PW County, they carry a heavier than needed tax burden, and their children often go to schools that are under-funded and overcrowded. The jobs they commute to with rising gas prices, often going out of the county completely to work, only magnifies the need to keep good jobs here. For over two decades, wages have been stagnant in Eastern PWC compared to those residents living in the western part of the county. With job training, local jobs, and enhanced benefits, these data centers that can be built can be a game changer in the lives of so many.

The PW Digital Gateway is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will open the door to allow PW County to move forward by capturing the economy of the future “data centers” in the Pageland corridor along existing transmission lines. The PW Digital Gateway is so much more than a “Pageland project”. The enormous tax revenue, construction, permanent jobs, job training and more that this will open the door to – will be a total game changer to the county.

The gateway will also prevent the land being eaten up by fewer tax revenue generators such as single family McMansions, large trucking distribution centers, and less desirable development that will produce more traffic, fewer jobs, and less benefit to the county overall.

Manassas Battlefield aficionados have concerns on the view from inside the battlefield looking out, despite that any data center that will be built will have heavy buffering to shield the battlefield from the centers. The data center’s height would actually be lower than the existing transmission lines that abut the battlefield area. Some residents worry data centers will affect the water table and environment, yet any project approved must follow all local, state and federal strict environmental guidelines–or they cannot be built.

We urge you to go to www.pwdigitalgateway.com/sign-the-petition today to let the county leaders know of your support for this amazing opportunity for our residents for generations to come.

It is time for ALL PW County residents to have a Better Quality of Life. Better jobs, Better Schools, Better Parks.
