With that announcement, Fairfax County NAACP President Sean Perryman is looking to throw his hat into a rapidly crowded ring that includes such notables as Delegates Hala Ayala and Elizabeth Guzman, who announced their respective campaigns earlier over the past month for the office of Lieutenant Governor.
Perryman, who is a lawyer by trade, became president of the Fairfax County NAACP in July 2019 after former president Kofi Annan resigned following a texting scandal. Prior to his appointment, he has served in a number of offices, including:
- Federal Communications Commission Advisory Committee on Diversity and Digital Empowerment.
- Counsel on the House Oversight Committee, Democratic staff
- Director of Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Counsel at Internet Association.
