Prince William County Encourages Residents to Complete Survey Regarding Internet Access and Affordability

Prince William County, Virginia – Prince William County encourages residents to support the development of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Digital Opportunity Plan by completing a quick, 10-minute survey this week. Resident participation will help the Commonwealth and the county better understand residents’ experience with broadband/internet services, gauge service affordability, and determine if broadband performance is adequate.

Residents of Prince William County can take the survey online, or take the survey on paper at any of Prince William Public Libraries’ 12 branches. The survey is available in these languages: ArabicEnglishRussianSpanish and Ukrainian. To take the survey at a library, ask any library staff member for help.

Virginia’s Digital Opportunity Plan will help direct the allocation of billions of federal dollars across the Commonwealth to ensure that all residents have access to high-speed and affordable broadband, and will support technology skills and training that enable residents to thrive in a digital economy. Responses from county residents to this survey will be a determining factor for how much funding Prince William County may receive.

The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development’s (DHCD) Office of Broadband is spearheading the development of Virginia’s Digital Opportunity Plan through a grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
