PowerMax is working with the community to make families safer

Across the nation and on the local level, communities have been struck with news of one tragedy after another. One organization is looking to do something about it.

Sharon Kelly, founder of PowerMax, a non-profit organization, is hosting a series of events in 2023 to discuss strategies to keep families safer. Through these events, the hope is to provide safeguards against violence. They are also to promote family unity and healing to those who are survivors of violent acts.

The first event, taking place on April 3rd at Northern Virginia Community College, is the Stepfamily Blended with Love Conference.

The next event is a Safety Awareness/Stop the Violence Community Family Cookout on June 3rd in Dumfries. It is to raise awareness in the community and provide safety measures.
