Perfekt Blend Coming to the Plaza for the Next Fridays at 5 Concert
Perfekt Blend is the next act slated for the Fridays at 5 Concert series, which is scheduled for this Friday, June 16, at the Sean T. Connaughton Plaza at the McCoart Government Center, 1 County Complex Court in Woodbridge.
Jaynel Jones, founder and lead singer with Perfekt Blend, said the band will bring something for everyone to enjoy.
“It’s going to be everything. We’re going to have rock. We’re going to have R&B. We’re going to do hip hop. We’re going to do pop. We’re going to do some Disney. We’re going to have something for everybody. All ages are going to enjoy our set,” said Jones who is returning to the plaza with Perfekt Blend for the second time. “Fridays at 5 is family friendly. We want to ensure that the kids have something they can sing along to and dance to as well.”
Jones said musicians in the band hail from across the DMV, and each bring their unique influences to the band, which blends everyone’s talents to make for a diverse show.
“With everyone coming from different walks of life, different backgrounds, different skill sets, makes us kind of special,” Jones said. “We’re not in one genre at all. Just when you thought you knew where we were going, we end up somewhere else,” Jones said. “The band really is a melting pot. We all blend together and it’s really interesting. You’ll see at our shows we give everyone in the band their moment to show their skills, so it blends perfectly, so the name is fitting.”
Jones promised that people will have a good time listening to the eight-piece band.
“We’re going to play some hits and we’re going to keep them on their feet. We’re going to give a fun summer party, a block party, festival kind of vibe. When we start, we do not slow down,” Jones said.
