Pamela Montgomery Announces Bid to Replace Jennifer Carroll Foy in Virginia House of Delegates

The list of candidates to replace Delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy in the Second House of Delegates District is continuing to grow. Yesterday, both Rozia Henson and Candi King announced their respective candidacies to replace Carroll Foy, who is resigning to focus on the 2021 gubernatorial race. Now, Pamela Montgomery, Chief of Staff to the Woodbridge District Supervisor, is entering the special election that will be held on January 5, 2021.

Montgomery has a decorated history of service, from serving in the US Army as a JAG Officer, to working as a Civil Rights Attorney, and currently as the Chief of Staff to the Woodbridge Supervisor.

She has been a resident of Prince William County for 27 years and is actively involved in the community, currently serving as a member of the Prince William County Democratic Committee, the 11th Congressional District Democratic Committee, and the Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association (WPCCA), in addition to her role as Chair of the Bethel Youth & Family Services Foundation. She is also the immediate past president of the Woodbridge Rotary Club.

In 2020, Pamela came out of retirement to serve as Chief of Staff to Woodbridge District Supervisor Margaret Franklin, gaining direct experience working with families in Prince William County. Pamela is running for House of Delegates, in the 2nd district, to continue to advocate for jobs, healthcare, and affordable housing for all Prince William County residents. Montgomery released the following statement:

“I am excited to continue the fight for working families down in Richmond. We have made serious strides in the last two years and seen what a Democratic majority can do for the lives of Virginia residents. I want to keep up the progress we have made while focusing on revamping jobs and the Virginia economy, better providing healthcare, and affordable housing to the people of the 2nd District.”

The special election will take place on January 5, 2021, and the Democratic nominee will be chosen in a firehouse primary on Sunday, December 13, 2020. As of now, no Republican candidates have declared their intention to run, and Republican leadership has not disclosed their nominating process.
