OmniRide to offer Sunday service

Starting next month, OmniRide users be able to ride seven days a week.

As ridership has steadily increased in 2022, the longtime bus system will be looking to provide a Sunday service to continue the trend. Despite the number of riders is still just half of what it was in 2019, there has been growth on Saturdays, with upwards of 1,000 daily riders.

Expansion into a Sunday service was made possible through the 2023 Prince William County budget. This will only be for local routes, as the commuter and express lines will remain on a Monday through Friday schedule.

OmniRide is looking to begin the services on August 28. During their July meeting, OmniRide will request a formal approval from the Potomac Rappahannock Transportation Commission’s board.
