NVBCC Hosts Exclusive Media Event

Washington, D.C: In February 2023, the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce (NVBCC) announced its Congressionally Directed Spending award in the amount of $300,000 in Federal funding from the Fiscal Year 2023 government spending legislation. Based on that award, NVBCC is prepared to announce the initiative that will be funded.

On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, NVBCC will host their Media Exclusive Event at 10:00 am at the American Center in Tysons Corner, Virginia. NVBCC will recognize August as Black Business Month and the organization’s 15-year Anniversary during this event. This will lead to the introduction and launch of the new NVBCC Economic Evolution Accelerator Program and highlight additional NVBCC initiatives for the remainder of 2023.

NVBCC’s mission is to assist Black-owned businesses by identifying resources, creating initiatives, and establishing educational avenues that provide opportunities for Black-owned enterprises to flourish in Northern Virginia and surrounding areas.

NVBCC Board Chairman Samuel Wiggins states, “Thanks to the support of Senator Tim Kaine and Senator Mark Warner, the Chamber is able to evolve its efforts in helping Black-owned businesses overcome the economic barriers and lack of access they face in Virginia.”

Join NVBCC to learn more about the initiative this funding will support and the impact it will make in Northern Virginia and surrounding areas. Please register here to attend this exciting event.
