Northern Virginia Rampage looks to start the season with a victory

Throughout the season, the PW Perspective will cover the Northern Virginia Rampage semi-professional football team as it enters its inaugural season. Back in January, we spoke with co-owner and head coach Jason Rock, defensive and special teams coordinator Rod Anderson and Vice President of Operations Trent Clark about their expectations. In February, we met some players who will grace the gridiron with their unique talents and also shared their individual stories of overcoming several challenges to get to this point.

Last Saturday, the Rampage held their pre-season warm up in West Haven, Connecticut at Nike State Park as they faced the Connecticut Falcons. The Rampage raced out to a 22-13 lead heading into the fourth quarter of the North-South Bowl. However, as with many things in the pre-season, mistakes were made, and they committed seven turnovers, several of them late, allowing the Falcons to rally for a 35-22 victory. The Falcons’ own TEZ TV sponsors highlights in the video recap.

Defeated yet determined, the Rampage plan to rebound with a victory this Saturday against the Virginia Royals. The game will take place at Potomac High School, 3401 Panther Pride Drive in Dumfries at 4:30pm. Visit their website for more details.
