What was once a mere vision has become reality as Rosie’s Gaming Emporium announced via press release that their newest location in Dumfries will be open to the public on Friday, January 8. The address is 18069 Triangle Shopping Plaza, Dumfries, Virginia 22026.

A few months ago the PW Perspective spoke with the SVP of Strategic Communications for McGuireWoods Consulting Mark Hubbard and Lisa Speller of Media Relations about what Rosie’s will bring to the Dumfries community and how it will emulate their similar facilities throughout the state. Back in November they held a series of job fairs for job seekers in the local area.

Prior to the grand opening there will be a private session for media on Tuesday January 5th. There will be game demonstrations and the General Manager will be available for interviews. Masks will be required for entry and social distancing guidelines will be practiced.

Colonial Downs Group has made a $300 million investment in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The company pays more than $32 million in annual state and local taxes plus an additional $12 million in racing industry payments annually. Their hope is to bring significant tax revenues to Northern Virginia.
