New Book Dad Jokes on the Road Honors the Life and Legacy of Marketing Visionary Patrick King
Proceeds Benefit Local Arts Scholarship
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA (April 1, 2025) — This April Fools’ Day, Imagine celebrates humor, heart, and heritage with the launch of Dad Jokes on the Road, a digital book written by Rebecca Barnes in memory of creative marketing icon and community champion Patrick King.
Written with wit and love by Barnes —CEO of Imagine — the book is a collection of classic road-trip dad jokes sure to spark laughter (and plenty of groans). But beyond the puns, it’s a tribute to King’s unforgettable legacy and a fundraiser for the Patrick King Arts Scholarship, which supports aspiring young creatives in Prince William County.
Priced at just $7.00, the digital edition is available now, and 100% of proceeds go to Give Back Prince William, the nonprofit organization carrying on Patrick’s spirit of generosity and local investment. Purchasers will also receive a full credit toward the print edition when it becomes available later this year.
“Patrick had a rare ability to make people laugh while making a lasting impact,” said Barnes. “This book is a joyful way to celebrate his humor, his passion for community, and his deep belief in the power of creativity.”
A Life of Creativity, Connection, and Community Impact
Patrick King was a lifelong student of marketing, branding, and design — creating his first professional logo at just nine years old for a real estate firm that used it for more than 30 years.
Since founding Imagine in 2004, Patrick led brand and creative strategy for major clients including Jim Beam Brands Worldwide, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Rubbermaid, and Rolls Royce, along with countless small businesses, nonprofits, and public service organizations.
A respected voice in his field, Patrick’s unique take on marketing and branding was featured in Inc., SmartCEO, Washington Business Journal, Northern Virginia Magazine, The Washington Post, and more. He served for two years as President of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the American Marketing Association, during which time the chapter won a national Bronze Award for excellence both years.
Patrick was not only a branding expert — he was a community builder. Through Imagine and volunteer work, he supported numerous local organizations, including Leadership Prince William, ACTS, CASA, and the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. Patrick’s legacy lives on in every business he helped grow, every artist he championed, and every person he inspired to dream big and laugh loud.
