McClellan Campaign Announces 25 New Virginia Endorsers

Today, gubernatorial candidate Senator Jennifer McClellan (D-Richmond) announced 25 new endorsements for her run to become the next governor of Virginia, bringing her total number of endorsements to more than 150. McClellan has the wide support from all corners of the commonwealth, including more than 50 elected officials.

McClellan’s latest endorsers include the Chair of the Henrico County Board of Supervisors, and members of the Charlottesville City Council, Ashland Town Council, Richmond School Board, Danville School Board and Radford School Board.

If elected, McClellan will be the first woman governor in Virginia history and first Black woman governor in U.S. history.  Last month, McClellan rolled out her “Women for McClellan” action group with 75 women endorsers from across the Commonwealth including Virginia’s first elected Congresswoman Leslie Byrne (D-Fairfax). McClelan has also received the support of Oregon Governor Kate Brown and grassroots organizations New Virginia Majority, Care In Action, Women of Color Coalition, and FundHer.

“I’m thrilled to bring the support of 25 new endorsers to our growing grassroots movement,” McClellan said. “Over the past 15 years, I’ve put building diverse coalitions of Virginians at the heart of my work delivering generational progress in the General Assembly. As our momentum continues to grow, I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective to the governor’s office as we rebuild a Virginia where no community is left behind.”

“I have known Jennifer for a long time and have watched her lead change, serve the greater Richmond community, and deliver generational progress for Virginia,” Henrico County Board of Supervisors Member Frank Thornton said. “Our Commonwealth is long overdue for a new perspective, and we need a governor who can get things done on day one. I know that Jennifer has the experience and perspective to lead Virginia forward. She’s the champion Henrico needs.”

“No one can match Jennifer McClellan’s command of the issues — both the details and the passion,” Charlottesville City Council Member Lloyd Snook said. “We need her leadership.”

“I am supporting Jennifer McClellan for Governor because I believe she is the best woman for the job,” Radford School Board Member Liz Altieri said. “As a candidate, she brings with her a wealth of experience in Virginia government and a refreshing perspective on important issues including education, infrastructure, and equity and inclusion.”

“I am excited to support Senator Jennifer McClellan to be the next Governor of Virginia,” former Arlington School Boardmember Tannia Talento said. “She is a proven leader and advocate for our Commonwealth, has the depth of experience necessary to govern, and is the person we need to serve as our next Governor of Virginia.” College paper writing services are a controversial aspect of academic life. They claim to provide necessary support for students under academic pressure, offering tailored essays and research papers. While they can aid in managing workloads, their impact on academic integrity is a complex issue that continues to spark discussion among educators and students alike.

“Jennifer McClellan has the most experience of any candidate in the governor’s race, and she is the candidate of choice to lead Virginia boldly into the future,”  LGBTQ+ Advocate and Business Leader Natasha McKeller-Crosby said. “I am honored to endorse her candidacy for governor.”

“I support Senator Jennifer McClellan because she has shown over the last 15 years her total dedication to the citizens of the Commonwealth with progressive and equitable legislation that we now call law,” Community Activist Jewel Jordan said.
