“Jenn the Tutor” Joins Conversations in the Community to Share About Pathways to Post-Secondary Education Black Girls

Haymarket, Virginia – Conversations in the Community welcomes Jenn the Tutor (also known as Jennifer Jessie) to the virtual community table on Tuesday, January 17th at 7:30 p.m. Students, parents/guardians and community members are invited to join the conversation. 

“Jenn the Tutor” offers an invaluable and much needed resource by helping Black girls navigate the road to college.  Many of our girls have the desire and qualifications to attend college but may not know how to gain access to the information.  Jennifer is helping to solve that problem.  to gain access.  She is not only helping to change the lives of the young ladies that she serves but she is having generational impact, said Jennifer Roberts, Conversations in the Community’s president and founder.

The 90-minute conversation will focus on the post-secondary services that Jennifer offers including one-on-one and small group support, helping participants evaluate the high school courses they are taking and providing pointers on how to find the best college fit.

Conversations in the Community, Inc. is a grassroots, educational advocacy organization headquartered in Haymarket, Virginia.  It is committed to engaging parents/guardians, students and community members in dialogue about issues in education with the goal of addressing and resolving them. www.citcom.org.

Jenn the Tutor offers private and pro-bono ACT and SAT test support and provides admissions, test-optional and financial aid consulting.  Jen has worked with students from all socio-economic levels, English as Second Language Learner students, students with disabilities, students who need ADA accommodations, students who attend minority-majority schools and students at Title 1 schools.  She has worked with K-5 and Special Education in a public school setting and has experience working with K-12 students, college students, law students and adult learners.  www.jennthetutor.com
