Upcoming Black Maternal Health Week Events

The month of April is National Minority Health Month. Established in 1915 as Negro Health Week by Booker T. Washington, it was in 2002 that a congressional resolution declared “a National Minority Health and Health Disparities Month should be established to promote educational efforts on the health problems currently facing minorities and other health disparity populations.”

This week is Black Maternal Health Week, which highlights the disparities in maternal healthcare. There are several events that is being hosted by She Matters, an organization dedicated to finding solutions to improve the well-being of Black mothers.

Each event is virtual, begins at 7pm EDT, and are free to join. Below is a list of events.
