Habitat for Humanity PWC Promotes Equitable Homeownership in National Campaign
Habitat for Humanity Prince William County supports equitable access to affordable homeownership in Prince William County, Manassas, & Manassas Park.
Manassas (April 7, 2025) – Habitat for Humanity Prince William County knows that a safe and affordable home has the power to transform the lives of families and is the cornerstone of strong communities. This month, Habitat for Humanity Prince William County is joining Habitat for Humanity’s national awareness and fundraising campaign Home is the Key to spotlight the critical need for equitable access to affordable housing in Prince William County, Manassas, & Manassas Park.
Throughout April, Habitat for Humanity Prince William County’s Manassas ReStore will be accepting “key donations” and placing them on display behind the register with donors’ names for all other customers to see. This campaign is held in honor of President Lyndon Johnson signing the Civil Rights Act of 1968, also known as the Fair Housing Act, which prohibits discrimination on housing based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familiar status, and disabilities. Even so, for many people across our region, access to an affordable home remains out of reach.
Habitat for Humanity’s vision is for everyone to have a safe and decent place to live. To that end, Habitat for Humanity Prince William County has built nine homes, rehabbed two, and completed over 300 housing and community development projects since its inception thirty years ago! This month, Habitat for Humanity Prince William will help another family close on their very first home in Woodbridge. In the coming year, another family will move into a Habitat home in Manassas, and yet another will be paying off their mortgage entirely.
People can support Home is the Key by donating at the register at the Manassas ReStore!
Habitat for Humanity Prince William County was founded in 1994 to serve low to medium income families in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park. Its thirty thousand square foot ReStore provides everything a family needs for a home – from construction materials to tools to furniture and flooring to lovely artwork and household items.
