Football Friday: Rampage begins the regular season this Saturday

After an impressive showing during last week’s pre-season contest in the North-South Classic against the Connecticut Falcons, the season begins in earnest for the Northern Virginia Rampage tomorrow night against the NoVa Mustangs.

Despite the usual cold elements that accompany the early March weather, the Rampage came out with an aggressiveness that suggests they will be looking to dictate the pace on both offense and defense. They forced turnovers, moved the ball efficiently in the air, and were able to control the line of scrimmage. Although the Falcons won 16-14, it was clear that this was a different Rampage than a year ago, and this Saturday at Potomac High School they will look to prove it.

Head Coach Dennis Cornwell talked about the expectations heading into the season opener. “There’s been new player personnel added on both sides of the ball,” said Cornwell. “We are looking to securing a playoff spot.”

He added, “We are excited to officially kickoff the second season and have raised the expectations from top to bottom.”

Tickets at the door are $10, but for those looking to obtain a season pass, check out the details below.
