Endorsement: Makya Little and Rozia Henson Jr.

PW Perspective is proud to announce our endorsement of Makya Little and Rozia Henson Jr. in the race for Delegate in the 19th District, which includes parts of Prince William County and Fairfax.

With an extensive background in government and nonprofit work, Little is well versed in the issues and how they can be addressed in ways that prioritize and protect underserved communities. Her experience as an expert in diversity, equity, and inclusion provides a meaningful and necessary perspective at a time when far-right politicians are attempting to erase and dismantle our diverse history.

As a life-long Virginian and small business owner, Henson has taken up roles as a community leader, activist, a grassroots organizer, and an advocate for his community. Henson previously ran for Delegate during the special election in HD-2 in 2020, and his background in government dates back to his college years when he studied political science and government at Virginia State University. As an advocate and champion for the community, Henson has shown his commitment to serving the residents of the district.

The 19th District encompasses diverse communities that deserve a champion who will fight for them in Richmond at a time when our public schools are under attack and hateful rhetoric has taken over the political narrative. The 19th District needs a representative who will get to work instead of playing political games, and both Little and Henson are ready to get to work.

Both Little and Henson provide unique perspectives, and their backgrounds provide much needed experience in Richmond. Either would make an exceptional choice to represent the 19th District in Richmond, and that is why PW Perspective has chosen to endorse both.
