Early In-Person Voting Begins This Friday, April 23, 2021

As election season in the commonwealth begins to move further in the primary stage, voters will get the opportunity this week to finally let their voices be heard at the ballot box. Here are some important dates to remember:

May 2021 Virginia Republican Convention

On May 8, 2021, the Republican Party of Virginia will hold a disaggregated convention to nominate candidates for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general. Prince William County will host one of the convention sites where Republican Party delegates may vote for their nominee from 9 am to 4 pm. Visit the Virginia GOP website for more information about the convention and the election process.

June 2021 Primary Elections

On June 8, 2021, the Commonwealth of Virginia will have a Democratic primary election for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, as well as several primaries for the House of Delegates representing Prince William County. Democrats in Districts 2, 31 and 50 and Republicans in District 51 will have primary elections.

Early In-Person Voting Begins This Friday

Early in-person voting for all these races begins Friday, April 23, and extends through Saturday, June 5, at three locations:

No Voting at the Woodbridge DMV

In the past, the Prince William Office of Elections has used the Woodbridge DMV for early voting. However, because of the ongoing COVID pandemic and limited parking at the DMV, voting is moved to the Dr. A. J. Ferlazzo Building.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors approved this change in polling location during their March 16 meeting. The Office of Elections will post signs at the DMV for anyone who may accidentally go there to vote, directing them to Ferlazzo.
