Dumfries to celebrate Elsie Garrison’s 100th Birthday in official proclamation

Yesterday the Dumfries Town Council made an official proclamation to honor the 100th birthday for Elsie Garrison. The wife of the late Klonsman Jack Garrison, former Dumfries Mayor, she has been an influential presence in the town of Dumfries for years.

According to the proclamation, Garrison will have a celebration on Sunday in Dumfries. Revered for her work with Dumfries United Methodist Church in the ministries of “Bread & Fishes” and the “Clothing Closet,” she also served in the Ladies Auxiliary of
the Dumfries Triangle Volunteer Fire Department; and playing an active role in the Dumfries Senior Citizens Group.
