A tenured law enforcement professional, McCarty brought over 25 years of public safety experience to the Town of Dumfries. Serving as Chief since 2018, during his tenure, he worked to improve functional relations with Prince William County Police and oversaw the buildout of the new police station in the former Town Hall building.

McCarty’s last day on the job will be August 31, 2020.
