Black Woman Releases Workbook, Card Deck, and More for Child-free and Childless Community
Meet Jerra Latrice Mitchell, a childfree woman and the founder of Unfertilized Eggs™, whose mission is to empower childfree women to live boldly and unapologetically and to empathize with childless women. (Childfree refers to those who choose not to have children, while childless describes women who do not have children by circumstance.) They also aim to confront society’s expectations of motherhood and educate others about fibroids.
At age 15, Jerra was adamant about not having children (no matter how many people tried to convince her otherwise). Then, at age 33, she was diagnosed with fibroids – which ultimately led to her infertility. Jerra understands firsthand the criticism of not wanting children and the complications of fibroids.
During her class reunion in Las Vegas this past summer, while almost everyone spoke about children, family lives, etc., Jerra had a “light bulb” moment. She also noticed a gap in the marketplace for childfree and childless women and chose to do something about it.
After a few months of brainstorming ideas, Jerra developed the 90-Day Journal for Childfree Women, the world’s first-ever Clapback Cards: Childfree Edition, and an apparel line.
The purpose of the 90-Day Journal for Childfree Women is to validate and affirm childfree women. It includes 90 original childfree stories (with writing prompts), an opportunity for you to write yourself a love letter, daily affirmations, an empowering playlist, and so much more!
The unique, first-ever, Clapback Cards: Childfree Edition includes a deck of 40 playing cards that are witty, hilarious, and bound to leave others speechless! They provide childfree women with “clapbacks” to help them quickly respond to questions such as, “When are you going to have children?” or “What if you end up old and lonely?”
The ‘Respectfully, Mind Your Own Uterus’ line of t-shirts come in a variety of colors, including royal blue and gold to represent Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, an organization Jerra is a proud member of.
In a society that undoubtedly pressures women into motherhood, the products at Unfertilized Eggs are essential for protecting your mental health, while providing genuine support and empathy.
Every year, Unfertilized Eggs donates a portion of its profits to an organization that supports fibroid awareness.
