Becoming Disciplined with Dr. Sarah Calveric

During Teacher Appreciation Week, we honor those educators who have done amazing things in the classroom. This week’s episode honors Dr. Sarah Calveric, Superintendent of Caroline County Schools.

Dr. Calveric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education from the State University of New York at Geneseo, a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership both from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also serves as an adjunct associate professor at the University of Richmond. The Dr. began her career in Hanover County Public Schools in 1997, where she served as a special and general education teacher at the elementary and middle school levels. In 2002, she began her 11-year career as an elementary assistant principal and principal. In 2013, she was named Director of Human Resources for Spotsylvania County Public Schools, where she worked collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to oversee the full spectrum of HR services and programs.

When Dr. Calveric began employment with CCPS in 2016, she charted a course with the instructional leadership team that resulted in CCPS schools moving from 40 percent accredited to 80 percent fully accredited in two years,” In 2018 Dr. Sarah Calveric was appointed as the Superintendent of Caroline County Public Schools where she has inspired and encouraged both students and teachers alike. Sarah Mallete Calveric has the work ethic of Kobe Bryant, the communication skills of Oprah Winfrey, and the warmth and empathy of a mom who cares about her teachers and students in a personal way.
