Over the past year, the family and friends of Mustafa Aljazairi, the 34-year-old man who was arrested in April 2023 after an accident in Dumfries which claimed the lives of his girlfriend Dorothy Fontain and her daughter Empress, have continued to fight for his release. During his incarceration, Mustafa has been subjected to solitary confinement and abuses. Now, there may be a breakthrough.

In a letter sent to the PW Perspective, and placed on the Free Mustafa Aljazairi TikTok page, Prince William County Police Chief Peter Newsham noted an internal investigation revealed that Officer Robert Drumm violated Department policy and “appropriate corrective action has been taken.” Statements have been falsified against Mustafa, and in light of this investigation, an opportunity for Mustafa to be set free has been set in motion. More to come on this story as it develops.
