PWC Gives! providing people an opportunity to give back

During the global pandemic of 2020, several organizations struggled to maintain operations due to the financial losses they suffered. This was especially true for non-profits, which primarily relies on the giving of the public. Now, there is an opportunity this week for the local community to financially help those organizations who work for those who need them in an event called PWC Gives!

According to the website, PWC Gives! is a fundraising initiative sponsored by the award-winning Prince William County Community Foundation.

PWC Gives! is a county-wide, 24-hour online fundraising event designed to promote charitable giving in and throughout Prince William County, Virginia starting on September 9-10. The goal of the event is to bring the county’s nonprofit organizations together in a day of unified fundraising to bring resources to our organizations. Nonprofits will use the funds they raise through PWC Gives! to increase the impact they are making in our community.

PWC Gives! is an innovative way to boost local nonprofit’s fundraising efforts. It provides eligible nonprofits opportunities to connect with existing supporters and to attract new donors through an easy-to-use online giving platform. PWC Gives! maximizes the ease of online giving and provides widespread visibility that only a county-wide effort of this type can generate.

How can you participate?

Visit www.pwcgives.org, check out all of the registered nonprofit organizations, then donate. Your donation will help these nonprofit organizations continue to provide valuable services within the Prince William County community.

Prior to the event from 6-7pm there will be a free virtual series that allows community members to learn more about local organizations, nonprofits, and small businesses; as well as become informed about current and relevant topics that affect our community titled “Community Conversations.” The speaker for this Zoom event will be Dr. Vanessa Gattis, President & CEO, Prince William County Community Foundation.
