I sat down with Brittany to discuss her company and why she is so passionate about what she does.

When did your business start?

I started my business nearly two years ago offering creative, technical, and administrative services as a Virtual Assistant. However, I made an impactful shift in my business during the pandemic to focus solely on creative elements, which was a fundamental change for me and my business

What is your mission?

I aspire to be a beacon of light to women, like me, who have found themselves at a major turning point in life and need encouragement and support to turn life’s challenges into triumphs. My turning point was divorce, which has empowered and enlightened. So, whether professionally or personally, I want to a part of the village that uplifts and motivates women because that village is where I received that same love.

Why is it important to be a black female voice in today’s time?

It would be remiss of me to choose not to express myself in today’s time amid all the injustices that Black women continue to face. We still experience prejudices and discrimination in the workplace, within our healthcare system, our school system, and in the communities that we call home. I will continue to use my voice alongside my sisters who too, share their stories and speak out against injustices. There is certainly strength in numbers, and we must continue to use our voice for the voiceless.

What is your why?

I have two beautiful children who are watching me ever so closely and they give me the courage and motivation to see all of life’s dreams through. I owe it to them to be an example of perseverance and grace, but I also owe it to myself. Knowing that I deserve the absolute best of whatever I want in this life keeps me going strong, too.

What are your future goals?

I’m building an empire. I am just at the beginning of my entrepreneurial career, but I have so much in store. In just two years I’ve been able to establish a business with solid services, launch an info product and sell out of apparel. I’ve also grown professionally as a speaker and a writer so, my only goal in this moment is to take all those things to the next level and continue to execute my ideas.

What is your message to up and coming female entrepreneurs?

You must begin somewhere. Why not start where you are and with what you already have? Once you can establish your business, the sky is the limit. Make sound decisions, embrace every lesson and whatever you do… don’t give up.
