Immigrants are Essential Rally to take place in DC today

WASHINGTON, D.C.  Immigrant Rights organizations will be rallying on Capitol Hill to make sure Congress gives a pathway to citizenship to DACA recipients, TPS and DED Holders, and essential workers through reconciliation. Immigrant essential workers have been left out of the reconciliation package at a time when they are working on the front lines.

This rally is held right before today’s 2:30 PM Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, and Border Safety hearing on The Essential Role of Immigrant Workers in America. The Senate subcommittee will be discussing the essential worker’s bill that hundreds of House members have supported and asked to be included in the future infrastructure bill

Many immigrant workers have been keeping us safe during COVID-19 by cleaning our hospitals, working in grocery stores, farmworkers and so much more. The best “thank you” they are asking for is citizenship. To learn more about the impact workers have on our recovery, click here
