Supervisor Margaret Franklin Issues Directive on Vaccination Demographic Data

Supervisor Margaret Angela Franklin (D-Woodbridge issued a directive to the county staff Equity Working Group to coordinate with the Health District to get better demographic data on the Covid-19 vaccination program that is responsive to earlier requests of members of the BOCS; and to develop a plan to ensure that the Covid-19 vaccinations are distributed equitably.

The most recent data reported to the Prince William County Board of County Supervisors indicates that the county’s Health District has administered 50,837 doses and 11, 978 residents are fully vaccinated. However, there is currently no data available related to the demographics of those who have received the vaccine.

“My colleagues and I are very concerned about the lack of demographic data available on the Covid-19 vaccination program,” said Franklin. “It is imperative that we have current and reliable demographic data to assess the effectiveness of the program and its equitable distribution.”

Yesterday the Novant Health UVA Health System held a virtual discussion with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and local faith-based communities to share the facts and latest information about the COVID-19 vaccine.
