Prince William County’s new tea, smoothie and coffee bar is changing the game!

“You should cleanse your mind of all the bad vibes. Let the good vibes flow instead.”

Owner Mashal Choudhry searched 41 locations in the DMV area before landing on the new home in Woodbridge, Virginia for her baby, Vibe-The Healthy Spot! For Mashal, this was more than just a new business, this was a mission to change lives, inspire others, and help people enjoy getting healthy!

A few years ago, Mashal had enough of feeling bad about herself. Having suffered a foot injury, she had gained weight and was not happy with where her life was headed. Unhealthy habits led to bad choices and Mashal found herself facing a crossroads. Fortunately, she chose to pull herself out of the dark place and began to make the necessary changes needed to improve her lifestyle.

Combining healthy meal-replacement shakes, energizing teas and exercise, she began to transform her body. Her changes didn’t go unnoticed. People wanted to know what she was doing to lose the weight and feel better!

Partnering with others, Mashal started coaching people online to help them make healthy lifestyle changes! But Mashal wasn’t content in stopping there. After listening and relying heavily on her own mentors, a year and a half ago, she decided it was time to take things to the next level. That’s when the idea for Vibe-The Healthy Spot was born.

As with most dreams, they don’t come to fruition without obstacles. Mashal got emotional as she shared, “Everyone told me I couldn’t do it. My family, my friends all told me I would fail. But now, they are some of my biggest supporters.”

On top of the routine struggles faced by every aspiring entrepreneur, Mashal faced the unique struggle of opening her doors during the Covid-19 pandemic. With other local businesses shuttering around her, taking on the task of opening a new business seemed almost impossible, but Mashal’s tenacity drove her to pursue her dream in spite of the looming pandemic. She remarks, “I believe what I’m serving with everyday nutrition is what people need now more than ever to fuel their body. Covid is just a bump in the road of life, it’s temporary. If you have the right mindset you won’t change your full story not even temporarily.”

With just a few adjustments, she was able to open shop and stay Covid-19 compliant in the process.

So how has it paid off for the young entrepreneur?

A regular customer named Charm who also owns a local business in the neighborhood had this to say, “I’m a hairstylist, and on my breaks, I come here for my pick me up. The drinks are delicious, healthy and the vibe rocks! Not only do they give me the boost of energy I need, but they taste amazing! The tea is like a smile in a cup!”

I personally tried the cookies and cream shake while I was there, and I must agree! The drink was delicious and left me feeling full and satisfied!

Mashal’s message to the community is this, “Follow your heart and your passion, only you can feel that. Other’s may see your passion, but only you can feel it.”

I asked Mashal what singular thing she wanted to accomplish from her shop, she had this to say, “If somebody catches a thought, a feeling or an idea from being here and is inspired in any way, I’ve done my job!
