Support women like Maya this Mother’s Day!

by Virginia Women’s Family Support Center

This Mother’s Day, we invite you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of mothers and their children once experiencing homelessness at  Virginia Women and Family Support Center.

Did you know that this Mother’s Day, 47,520 pregnant mothers and their children are homeless? It’s a staggering number that reflects the immense challenges that women face. But together, we can provide mothers with housing, hope, security, and a much brighter future.

At VAWFSC, we’re committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and empowering vulnerable families. By becoming a Cycle Breaker, you’re joining us in celebrating the strength of mothers. Your contribution will have a lasting impact, providing vital support to homeless moms and their children.

Meet Maya – one of the incredible women residing at VAWFSC. Maya’s journey began with uncertainty, facing the possibility of separation from her newborn while dealing with homelessness. Initially arriving in the United States at the age of fifteen, Maya found herself relegated to the role of a babysitter and an evening laborer, her dreams seemingly cast aside. However, her greatest wishes were clear: a future for her daughter and citizenship in the United States.

During her months at Virginia Women and Family Support Center, Maya’s transformative journey unfolded. Committed to self-growth, she navigated a path to self-sufficiency for herself and her child by attending classes, obtaining a job, and going above in beyond to create the best life for her and her daughter. With the support of Cycle Breakers like you, Maya passed her citizenship test this year and is working towards her dream of becoming a pharmacy technician.

Maya’s story illustrates the transformative power of compassion and support. Every act of kindness and support has the potential to brighten the world for mothers and their children.

Listen to Maya sharing her story here.

By becoming a Cycle Breaker, you’ll receive monthly photo cards, quarterly gifts, complimentary VIP event tickets, and more. It’s a gift that keeps on giving this Mother’s Day.
