Letter to the Editor: Bob, stop playing politics and act like a leader for “All People.”

Supervisor Bob Weir and Members of the Board,

Last Thursday, 70 plus residents of Pageland Lane and I, plus approximately 40 others attended Supervisor Weir’s County “No Holds Barred Town Hall.”  Bob, it’s not a town hall meeting when you don’t have the applicants there to present their application.  What you had was a pep rally.  You are a PW County Board member NOW.   You cannot have pep rallies.   You need to present facts and both sides of issues, not just one side.  You know that having the applicants present their case at a town hall is part of the instructions to applicants PWC has required over the past 30 years.  Why didn’t you have the applicants there?

Then on Friday, you posted on your official Magisterial District page that we (your constituents) were “peaceful protestors.”  We are not protestors.  This is a land use case.  We are advocates for this land use case.  To call us protestors is to diminish and try to intimidate our standing.

Bob you are not listening to us.  You should listen to all your constituents, then decide.

You are an elected representative of all the people now. You cannot hold pep rallies and call them town halls.  You are supposed to listen to all the people and give the applicants the forum to have a dialog and vet the application.

And last but not least, Bob, you should allow comments on ALL your Gainesville Magisterial posts and NOT turn them off when WE THE PEOPLE might say something you don’t like.  That is taking away our Constitution Right to voice our opinion on public issues.

Sincerely,

Mary Ann Ghadban
