One Community Social Services announces grand re-opening
One Community Social Services sponsored the following announcement.
One Community Social Services is proud to announce that we have a new location for our donation center. We are holding a grand re-opening on March 22 at 3:30pm at the facility located at 2700 Potomac Mills Circle Unit 873.
Our donation center provides essential items to newly resettled refugees. These items include clothing, diapers, mattresses, furniture, and more! We provide volunteers on site to assist families and provide translation services as needed.
One Community Social Services is a new nonprofit founded by Maggie Zargarpur, Yasmeen Zargarpur, and Yaqub Zargarpur after two successful years responding to the Afghan refugee crisis in 2021 where they worked with the Muslim Association of Virginia as well as the Department of Homeland Security in Operation Allies Welcome. With partners and volunteers they were able to assist the federal government throughout the process of processing and resettling 70,000 Afghan refugees. Continued need brought about the creation of this new organization, One Community Social Services, with the mission to provide culturally competent and comprehensive services to community members in need.
