Mayor Derrick Wood and Community Leaders Announces Youth Empowerment Event in Dumfries

DUMFRIES, VA – The Town of Dumfries, Mayor Wood is proud to announce a Youth Empowerment event, taking place on Monday, February 20th at 5pm at 3800 Graham Park Road. This event is hosted by the youth of Dumfries and provides an opportunity for the youth and community leaders to come together and support the future leaders of our town.

“The youth are the future of our community and we want to give them a platform to share their perspectives and ideas, so that we can create things that they want to help make a reality” said Mayor Derrick Wood. “This event will provide a valuable opportunity for policy makers, community leaders, and members of the public to hear directly from our youth about what they envision for their future and how we can work together to make that vision a reality.”

At the Youth Empowerment event, youth, and anyone who are concerned about youth are invited to come out and show their support for the youth as they take the lead in shaping the future of Dumfries. The event will include a panel discussion where the youth will present their perspectives on the community and share their desires for future programs.

The Town of Dumfries is committed to supporting the growth and development of our youth, and this event is an important step in that direction. We encourage everyone to come out and be a part of this exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in our community.
